Oner expresses desire for a lasting future with T1, aiming to give back to fans.

It’s becoming a bit of a pattern for T1 lately, as each World Championship win has been followed by a key player’s departure, starting with Zeus in 2024 and now Gumayusi this year. However, fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as the team’s standout jungler has expressed his commitment to staying put for the foreseeable future.

“I want to play for T1 for a long time. It’s my way of giving back to the fans who support me. I aspire to be T1’s franchise player because I’m genuinely happy and fulfilled playing alongside my teammates,” Oner shared in a recent interview.

Oner has been a vital part of T1’s achievements in recent years, providing stability and leadership in the jungle throughout multiple championship runs in the LCK and beyond. Since becoming a regular starter, he has been instrumental in the team’s macro strategy and objective control, allowing his lanes to play aggressively while keeping up map pressure.

His synergy with Faker and the rest of the roster has been a key element in T1’s ongoing success, especially on the international stage, where his clutch plays and diverse champion pool have consistently influenced high-stakes matches. While fans adore his unique jacket style and backstage antics, Oner is much more than just a fashion icon. His dominance in the jungle is essential for T1 to maintain its position as Korea’s leading team and a formidable contender globally.

Oner expressed his “disappointment” at not being chosen for the recent Asian Games but noted that this setback has only fueled his determination to enhance his skills and secure a spot on the national team in the future. Last year, Kanavi represented South Korea, leading the team to a gold medal and earning all teammates a special exemption from mandatory military service.

“Of course I want to compete in the Asian Games. It’s a huge honor to represent our country with the Taegeuk symbol on my chest. However, I believe the tournament should showcase the best players, so I’ll work hard to improve my skills for selection,” Oner stated.

T1 recently clinched the KeSPA Cup 2025 with their new AD carry, Peyz, wrapping up the competitive calendar for the year. The team will be back in action next year for the LCK Cup.
