Peyz, a former MSI champion, is expected to become T1’s new starting ADC.
After Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong and T1 parted ways earlier today, the Korean organization has reportedly moved swiftly to secure its next bot laner, who will carry the team’s banner for the coming years.
Initial reports suggest that former MSI champion Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan is set to join T1 as the new starting AD carry for the 2026 season.
At just 19 years old, Peyz is recognized for his exceptional mechanics, impressive champion pool, and composure in high-pressure situations. He has long been viewed as one of the most promising ADC talents to emerge from Korea. After a successful stint with Gen.G Academy, he joined the main roster in 2022, where he spent two years, clinching the MSI 2024 title and multiple domestic LCK splits, including decisive victories over T1.
This potential move would mark Peyz’s return to the LCK after spending recent splits in the LPL with JD Gaming. While JDG started 2025 strong, they struggled to maintain consistent results throughout the season. Nevertheless, Peyz’s overall performance was solid, and a return to T1 could provide him with the opportunity to showcase his skills against top-tier competition.
T1’s search for a new bot-lane leader began immediately following Gumayusi’s departure, a three-time world champion and a key figure in the team’s historic success. The announcement of Gumayusi’s exit came just over a week after winning Worlds 2025, with reports indicating he might take Peyz’s spot on the JDG roster. For T1, finding a player with both star power and championship experience is crucial, and Peyz fits that bill.
If the deal goes through, Peyz will team up with world-class support Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, creating one of the most formidable bot lanes heading into 2026. With veterans like Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, and Choi “Doran” Hyeon-jun already in place, T1 seems well-equipped to rebuild quickly and make another run at Worlds.
As of now, no official announcement has been made by T1 or JDG regarding the player, so it’s wise to take this news with a grain of caution until confirmed.
