Before the rise of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Jennifer English brought life to unique characters in Divinity: Original Sin 2, leaving even Larian amazed.
Jennifer English, known for her roles in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, actually kicked off her gaming career in a much earlier Larian Studios RPG.
Recently, jokes have been circulating online following The Game Awards 2025, highlighting that having Jennifer English in your game seems to guarantee award-winning potential. With her performances in both Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which have both shattered records in nominations, it’s easy to see why. She also lent her voice to Latenna in Elden Ring, another standout title.
However, her first foray into gaming was back in 2017 when she voiced around 70 different characters in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Among these roles was an enchanted chest with some hilarious lines, and since The Game Awards, fans have been sharing clips of her performance that have even caught the attention of Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke. He recently commented, “Awesome – I didn’t remember she was in there. Game award-winning cast, that game.”
Vincke’s acknowledgment of her past role comes alongside the memes about her connection to game awards. Fans have taken to the comments, urging for her return in the upcoming Divinity installment revealed at the recent Game Awards. One fan pleaded, “Surely Jennifer English can make a return to Divinity? Pretty please?” while another speculated, “The cast of Divinity will be a big class reunion, won’t it?” Many are also suggesting that Larian should consider making her the narrator for the new game, a role that would suit her perfectly. Personally, I’d love to see her as a companion again.
A Larian RPG wouldn’t feel complete without her, and I’m hoping she returns to the Divinity series in the next installment—perhaps once again taking on 70 different roles.
As Larian gears up for the next chapter, the director has teased fans, saying, “Going back to putting beaches in games now.”
