Arc Raiders Update Introduces Skill Tree Reset Feature, but Players Call for More Endgame Improvements

The chill in the air signals the arrival of the Arc Raiders Cold Snap event, which is now in full effect. This update not only blankets most maps in a winter wonderland but also kicks off two gameplay events, alongside a comprehensive set of tweaks, rebalances, and fixes aimed at enhancing your gaming experience.

Notable changes from the patch notes include the introduction of a skill tree reset, the option to toggle aiming down sights, customization for Raider Tools, and adjustments to spawn points on Stella Montis to prevent players from clustering too closely. The standout feature is undoubtedly the ability to reset your skill tree independently, a significant shift from the previous requirement to reset your Raider through an expedition.

For just 2,000 coins per skill point, you can now revisit your character’s build and recalibrate their progression. While this system is convenient, it has sparked some debate, especially since expeditions remain costly at five million coins each. Players who were saving up to start fresh feel somewhat let down.

One player expressed their frustration on Reddit, noting, “Oh wtf now they add skill tree reset? That was my main reasoning for doing the expedition and I’ve already sold all my stuff.” While they appreciate the new feature, they admit to feeling “salty.”

This change, combined with the more challenging character reset, has raised eyebrows in the community. Another Redditor commented, “The skill tree reset was the main incentive for the expedition. You absolutely need to reduce the cost at this point. What a bizarre set of decisions. Fix your endgame Embark; the expedition as is just kills it.”

Despite the mixed feelings, many players are welcoming the new option, especially at a lower cost. “Skill tree reset is a W,” noted another commenter.

On the weapon and enemy front, the Bettina and Rattler received minor buffs, along with the Shredder, which now features more individual parts to target. If these updates don’t bring some warmth to the gameplay, the Cold Snap event could feel like a long, dark winter indeed.

Arc Raiders developers are committed to their beloved shooter, stating, “Our ambition is to keep this game alive for the longest time.”
