Bully Receives Online Mod After Two Decades, Featuring Racing Minigame and Multiplayer Mayhem: “We’ve Been Cooking”
Fans have taken matters into their own hands, launching Bully Online, a project that many believe Rockstar Games should have initiated long ago.
Nearly two decades after GTA made its online debut, it’s evident that Rockstar’s titles excel not just as solo adventures but also as fantastic playgrounds for multiplayer fun. While Rockstar has only officially embraced this with GTA 4/5 and Red Dead Redemption 1/2, the potential for other games in their lineup is clear. Classic titles like GTA San Andreas have enjoyed multiplayer mods for years, and now, the often-overlooked gem, Bully, is stepping into the online arena.
Bully Online was first teased in October, and although the developers, now known as “Fat Pigeon Development,” initially stated a 2026 release, they surprised everyone with a recent announcement declaring, “BULLY Online HAS BEEN RELEASED!!” Lead developer Swegta emphasized that to “ensure the survival of Bully Online, we’ve decided to release this as open source to the whole community.” This means that anyone with the skills and interest can contribute to the project.
The mod not only brings the online free-roaming experience reminiscent of GTA Online but also features over 60 minigames, including races, sky obstacle courses, and a unique FPS mode where players take on the role of rats. Additionally, it revives some cut beta areas from the original Bully and enhances the 2006 PS2 environments with new details, such as plants and animated TVs in shop windows.
The mod is currently available, providing all the necessary information for players to jump in and a list of incompatible mods for the new online experience.
