Upcoming Divinity Game Will Include Characters and Story Elements from Original Sin 2

Following the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios is diving back into its roots with a new entry in the Divinity series, which was unveiled during The Game Awards. The upcoming title will bring back some characters and elements from 2017’s Divinity: Original Sin 2. This beloved game is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. According to Larian’s official site, “Divinity will offer a completely new story, but there’s some continuity and characters for those who’ve played previous games. You might even pick up on certain things others may not.” They also mentioned that while Original Sin 2 stands alone, experiencing the first Divinity: Original Sin is recommended for the fullest enjoyment. Players who already own Divinity: Original Sin 2 on their respective consoles can access the new versions as a free update by claiming the Upgrade Pack. However, Japanese players will need to pay ¥100 to upgrade from Switch to Switch 2 and from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5. The new Divinity was hinted at before The Game Awards with a mysterious structure known as the Hellstone. A release date for this title has not yet been revealed.
