Terminator: Survivors Faces Another Delay, Multiplayer Co-Op Feature Removed
Terminator: Survivors, initially slated for a 2024 release, has been pushed back once more and is now expected to launch sometime after 2025. The game is being developed by Nacon Studio Milan. Creative director Marco Ponte explained that the delay followed “months of internal testing” and feedback from the community. In light of this feedback, the team has also decided to remove multiplayer co-op from the game. Ponte acknowledged that this might disappoint some fans but emphasized that it aligns with their vision for a more focused post-Judgment Day experience.
Furthermore, the developer has scrapped plans for an early-access release, aiming instead to deliver a fully polished experience for players’ first foray into the wasteland. While Ponte couldn’t provide a specific new release date, he confirmed that the game will not be available in 2025, a prediction many had already made given the year’s progression. Looking ahead, Nacon plans to hold closed playtests soon, and interested players can sign up for a chance to participate. Ponte expressed gratitude for the community’s patience, stating, “We know expectations are high, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. For now, I can only thank you for sticking with us as we do our absolute best to create a game worthy of the Terminator legacy.” It’s worth noting that Terminator: Survivors isn’t the only title in the franchise facing delays this year; Bitmap Bureau and Reef Entertainment also postponed Terminator 2D: No Fate, which finally launched on December 12.
