Arc Raiders: Navigating the Toxic Trail Quest

Arc Raiders is packed with quests, and one of them involves investigating the contamination of the water supply. This questline leads you to A Toxic Trail, which takes you back to a previous area to uncover more about the water issue. Here’s how to complete A Toxic Trail. While you don’t have to extract from the map to finish this quest, doing so is a smart move, especially if you lack a safe pocket for the key that drops at the end. Although it’s not essential for any quests, extracting can help you snag some valuable loot on the Spaceport map later. When you’re ready to dive into A Toxic Trail, follow these steps.

To kick off A Toxic Trail in Arc Raiders, return to the drain where you found the barrel for the Source of the Contamination quest. You can locate this barrel outside the Water Treatment Center on the Dam Battlegrounds map by approaching from the north through the swamp. Check the map for the exact location.

This time, you won’t need to interact with the barrel. Instead, wade through the murky water for a moment to trigger the next part of the quest, which involves finding traces of the barrel’s origin. Fortunately, you won’t have to go far to track down where the barrel came from. Head west a short distance to find a truck submerged in the swamp. It’s hard to miss, as it’s out in the open, and we’ve marked its location on the map for you.

Approach the truck and interact with the prompt to take a photo of it. After that, you’ll receive a final task to search the truck for clues about who sabotaged the water supply. Simply interact with the truck’s door to find a Spaceport Warehouse Key. Make sure to pick it up and store it in your safe pocket, as it will be useful for finding good loot next time you’re in Spaceport. This truck is the source of the contamination.

Once you’ve wrapped up the quest, you can extract at the nearby Central Swamp Lift. Just be cautious, as this area can be a hotspot for other raiders, so stay alert. When you return to Speranza and turn in this quest, you’ll unlock a follow-up quest called The Stench of Corruption, which you’ll need to complete to earn the Warden outfit.
