A Guide to Finishing the Toxic Trails Quest in Arc Raiders

The Toxic Trails quest in Arc Raiders is a mission you can pick up from Shani as part of the Flickering Flames missions in the Cold Snap seasonal update. While it’s straightforward, it can be a bit tricky if you’re not sure what to look for, similar to the Arc Raiders Paving the Way objective. If you’re feeling stuck, here’s a breakdown of what you need to do.

For the Toxic Trails quest, you’ll be heading back to the water intake at the Water Treatment building, which is essentially a revisit to the Source of Contamination mission you completed for Celeste. This time, there are just a few additional steps involved. Here’s how to fully complete Toxic Trails:

The Water Treatment intake is located on the Dam Battlegrounds map, referred to as the Flood Spill Intake when you arrive in-game. This time, you won’t need to perform any actions upon arrival; just approach the barrel to trigger the next part of the quest.

After you’ve located the barrel, your next task is to search the swamp for its origin. This objective is somewhat open-ended, so head to this spot on the map where you’ll find a truck loaded with barrels in the river:

It’s not too far away, but it’s easy to overlook if you wander off in the wrong direction or fail to recognize its importance from a distance. Once you reach the truck, you’ll need to take a picture of it and interact with the prompts around it to search it.

Investigating the truck will complete the mission and reward you with the Space Port Warehouse key, so be sure to stash that safely before moving on. As noted, this key unlocks a door in the Shipping Warehouse at Spaceport, so hang onto it until you can explore that area. Once you’ve finished with the truck, head back to Shani to turn in the quest, and you’ll receive your rewards.
