Kit Harington Declines to Voice Jon Snow in Game of Thrones Audiobook, Preferring to Move On After a Decade of the Role
Kit Harington, known for his role in Game of Thrones, doesn’t seem too eager to revisit Westeros, despite having once been involved in a solo spin-off project.
In a recent chat about his role as Gilderoy Lockhart in the Audible Harry Potter series, Harington was asked if he would consider voicing Jon Snow in a Game of Thrones audiobook. His response was a firm no. “No, god no,” he said, clearly indicating he has no interest in returning to that character. “I don’t wanna go anywhere near it. I spent 10 years doing that. Thanks, I’m alright.”
Harington was previously linked to a Jon Snow spin-off titled Snow, which was set to take place after the events of Game of Thrones season 8. He shared that they spent a couple of years developing the project, but ultimately, it didn’t spark enough excitement. “In the end, I kind of backed out and said, ‘I think if we push this any further and keep developing it we could end up with something that’s not good’. And that’s the last thing we all want.”
On the brighter side for fans of Westeros, the future looks promising. House of the Dragon season 3 and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are both set to premiere in 2026, with a fourth season of House of the Dragon and a second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms also confirmed.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 is scheduled to drop on January 18, 2026. In the meantime, there’s plenty to look forward to with a lineup of exciting upcoming TV shows in 2026.
