Stardew Valley 1.7 Update Promises Major Additions, Including New Farm Type and Social Features
Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone, the mastermind behind Stardew Valley, has recently teased the upcoming 1.7 update for his beloved farming simulator. After a few months of silence, fans were eager for any hints about what this update might bring, and the developer has finally shared a glimpse of what’s in store.
In response to a fan’s inquiry about a sneak peek of the 1.7 update, ConcernedApe revealed, “There will be some more character/social stuff. It’s also traditional to add a new farm type. Lots more, but I don’t want to reveal much yet.” While it’s not a full reveal, it’s enough to get the community buzzing with excitement.
The previous update, 1.6, was released just over a year ago, so it seems we might still be waiting a bit for 1.7 to drop. ConcernedApe himself mentioned back in September that “it’s going to be a while” before the update is ready. However, knowing that it will include significant additions like a new farm type makes the anticipation even more thrilling. The mention of “character/social stuff” also raises questions about potential new interactions or events between characters.
Could we see fresh events similar to the Desert Festival introduced in the last major update? It’s a challenge to top the excitement of 1.6 and previous updates, but given the quality of past content, there’s a strong belief that 1.7 will deliver something special.
Additionally, ConcernedApe is juggling multiple projects, including the highly anticipated Haunted Chocolatier. He has indicated that while the development of 1.7 won’t significantly slow down work on Haunted Chocolatier, it may cause a slight delay. With so much on his plate, fans have plenty to look forward to in both the farming sim and the new game in the simulation genre.
ConcernedApe has also hinted that an announcement regarding the Switch 2 edition of Stardew Valley is coming soon, apologizing for the wait. The excitement continues to build as the community eagerly awaits more news.
