Customize Your Google Search: Set GamesRadar+ as Your Go-To for Gaming News

Are you a fan of the content produced on your favorite video game and entertainment franchises and wish you could see more of it when using Google?

Good news! Google has rolled out a new feature designed to help you easily find news articles from your preferred websites. The ‘Preferred News Source’ tool, which launched in the US and India earlier this year, is set to expand to more regions soon. Here’s how you can set your favorite source for gaming news.

When you search for any topic on Google, whether it’s gaming or something else, you’ll notice a ‘Top Stories’ section filled with relevant articles if the topic is trending. At the top of that section, there’s an icon resembling two overlapping cards with a star. Click on it, and a pop-up will prompt you to “choose your preferred sources” by entering the name or URL of your desired website—like GamesRadar.com, for example.

Alternatively, you can click to add your preferred source directly.

After you refresh your search results by clicking the button at the bottom of the pop-up, you’re all set. From now on, when you search for topics covered by your preferred sources, that site will show up more prominently in your results, either in the Top Stories section or in a dedicated ‘From Your Sources’ area below it.

Feel free to add as many preferred sources as you want—most early testers added at least four websites. You might choose to include your favorite for gaming or film and TV news, while selecting others for different interests. You can also remove sources anytime by going back to the pop-up and unchecking them.

Before you leave, make sure to add your preferred source to see it more frequently in your search results.

Enjoy weekly digests, stories from the communities you love, and more!
