Splitgate Developers Merge FPS Titles into Arena Reloaded, Fulfilling Fan Desires

The Splitgate universe has officially merged. With the ongoing re-release of Splitgate 2, the sequel is now integrated with the original, resulting in what’s called Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. This first-person shooter brings together the best elements of both titles.

Developer 1047 Games has made this exciting announcement, and Arena Reloaded is available for players to dive into right now. This version retains the beloved portal-based movement and sci-fi weaponry from the original Splitgate while introducing new maps, modes, and weapons, enhancing the overall multiplayer experience.

Five unique arenas have been added to the mix in Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, each offering fresh strategic opportunities. Players can explore Abyss, Oasis, and Karman Station, all revamped from the first game to challenge your skills further. Additionally, there’s Terra 13, a mountainous area within a massive space colony, and Hammerhead, set on a colossal moving vehicle, designed to keep you on your toes.

A variety of game modes are available, including team-based and free-for-all battles. Notably, there’s a Classic Arena mode that harkens back to the original Splitgate, featuring fixed loadouts of an assault rifle and a carbine for that nostalgic FPS experience.

This direction aligns perfectly with what players anticipated from Splitgate 2. As development progressed, there was much debate about whether a sequel was necessary or if a refined continuation of the first game would suffice. It’s clear that 1047 Games has taken player feedback to heart. Splitgate: Arena Reloaded is now live.

After a rocky launch that led to its temporary removal and return to beta, Splitgate 2 is making a comeback, with developers asserting that the FPS is now in “the best place it’s ever been.”
