Ahsoka Season 2 Not Included in Disney’s 2026 Lineup, Sparking Concerns of a 2027 Delay
Ahsoka season 2 might not be hitting Disney Plus in 2026 as many fans had hoped.
The absence of the Star Wars series from Disney’s recent lineup during their Q4 earnings call has sparked concerns that the release could be pushed back to 2027. Although there was no official date set for the second season, filming wrapped up in September 2025, leading many to believe it would arrive sometime in 2026. Given that season 1 debuted in August 2023, anticipation for the new season has been building for quite a while.
One fan expressed their frustration on Twitter, saying, “Really hope it’s just a mix-up because I am so excited for season 2, and if I have to wait another whole year, I’m going to be so, so sad.” Another chimed in, “It’s actually mad disrespectful to the audience if they make the gap between the seasons four years. And the show isn’t even that good to begin with.” A third user vented, “EVERYTHING TAKES TOO LONG TO MAKE.”
Rosario Dawson reprises her role as Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s former Jedi apprentice, joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Season 2 will also feature Rory McCann, known from Game of Thrones, stepping in for the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll.
The first season concluded with a cliffhanger, but reports suggest that season 2 will not begin with a time jump. Instead, it will continue directly from where we left off, with Ahsoka and Sabine stranded on Peridea after Grand Admiral Thrawn’s escape. However, specific plot details remain closely guarded.
As we await further news on the Ahsoka season 2 release date, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding other upcoming Star Wars movies and shows.
