Enjoy Free Access to Black Ops 7 Multiplayer Modes Now!

PC gamers curious about jumping into Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 can now try it out for free. Until December 22 at 1 p.m. EST, both the multiplayer and Zombies modes are available to play at no cost on Steam.

While the multiplayer experience follows the familiar formula, Black Ops 7 has faced challenges in distinguishing itself from previous entries in the series. Nevertheless, it managed to become the best-selling game of November, marking the 18th consecutive year that a Call of Duty title topped the sales charts in its launch month.

On the U.S. Steam storefront, the campaign isn’t included in the free trial, but that’s not a significant loss, as Black Ops 7’s campaign has been widely criticized. In fact, the game received such negative feedback that developer Treyarch made the post-campaign mode accessible to all players just a week after launch.

In response to the backlash regarding Black Ops 7, particularly its close release to the sixth installment, the developer has announced plans to avoid releasing consecutive titles within the same sub-franchise. This comes after Modern Warfare 3 also faced criticism as a follow-up to Modern Warfare 2. What the Call of Duty franchise may truly benefit from is some time to breathe between releases.

If you find yourself enjoying the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and decide to purchase the full game, it’s currently available at a 30% discount on Steam until Thursday at 1 p.m. EST.
