Guide to Completing the Goblin King Quests in The Forge

The Forge is packed with RPG-style sidequests, offering a wealth of lengthy NPC tasks and requests that yield valuable rewards, pulling you away from the main storyline. Among these, the Goblin King quests can be particularly frustrating, as completing just one isn’t enough to satisfy his royal demands.

There are five Goblin King quests in total, each progressively more challenging and costly to complete. While you’ll earn a nice chunk of XP for each task, the real draw for catering to the Goblin King is gaining access to a new area—essential for another sidequest, Find Tomo’s Lost Cat.

Some of the Goblin King’s requests can become quite tedious, so consider using active codes in The Forge to stock up on extra spins or free luck totems to ease the grind.

For all five sidequests, you’ll need to bring the Goblin King both gold and a selection of rare ores. He’s more of a toll collector than a king, demanding increasingly valuable items with each visit. I’ll dive into the specifics shortly, but here’s the rundown of the Goblin King quests in The Forge:

Completing each Goblin King quest rewards you with a significant amount of XP, but the true prize lies behind a locked door to the right of his lair. After finishing the fifth quest, the Goblin King will drop a key. Grab it and unlock the door.

This opens up the Goblin Cave, a unique area in the Forgotten Kingdom filled with mineable crystals, Slime enemies, and Tomo’s lost cat.

The sidequest to find the lost cat begins at Stonewake’s Cross, but you won’t be able to start until you’ve wrapped up the main questline there and advanced the story.

Once you agree to help Tomo, there are a few more steps to get ready for the Goblin King’s demands:

Following Sensei Moro’s quest line will get you most of the way there, so aim for level 10 and complete his tutorial series to unlock access to the Forgotten Kingdom. The Goblin King is waiting in a grassy nook along the island’s edge, easily missed unless you spot a couple of goblins guarding a gate.

To gather valuable Ruby gems from Basalt Veins for the Goblin King’s final quest, you’ll need a pickaxe that deals at least 78 damage. The Arcane Pickaxe ($125,000) from the Bard’s quest is perfect for this. If you’re looking to save some gold, you can also purchase the Mythril Pickaxe ($67,500) or the Lightite Pickaxe ($98,500) from the shop in the Forgotten Kingdom.
