Arc Raiders Developer Reflects on Successful Launch: This Is Just the Start

The success of Embark Studios’ extraction shooter, Arc Raiders, is undeniable. As 2025 wraps up, the studio is taking a moment to reflect on its monumental launch, recently celebrated with the title winning Best Multiplayer Game at the 2025 Game Awards, and to look ahead to 2026. According to Embark, “the work is just beginning.” In a post on the Arc Raiders website, executive producer Aleksander Grondal shared, “We had a feeling that Arc Raiders was something special. Internally, we were having a blast playing it before release, and your reaction to the tech test in April gave us an inkling of what was to come. What we didn’t count on was the sheer scale of love and passion you guys were going to show this game.” Released in late October, Arc Raiders quickly became a hit, selling millions of copies within days and establishing itself as one of the year’s most cherished multiplayer experiences. While many multiplayer titles experience a spike in popularity that eventually fades, Arc Raiders has maintained impressive player engagement, with Steam numbers still in the six-digit range. Embark Studios is committed to keeping the momentum going. The game has received regular updates that address quality-of-life improvements while introducing new features and maps. The latest major update, Cold Snap, brings a new icy map condition, an in-game event, and more. This is just the first of several significant updates that the team has planned. “We’re here for the long term, to build a game that continues to excite and surprise – we hope you stick around for the journey,” the blog post states. Additionally, Embark is offering a free 1,000 Raider tokens, an in-game currency, to anyone who participates in the Winter event before it concludes on January 13th.
