Physical Editions of Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection Coming to PS5 and Switch

Capcom is bringing back the classic Mega Man RPG series from the Nintendo DS era with the upcoming Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, set to launch on March 27 for PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Preorders for this seven-game compilation are now open across all platforms, but only the PS5 and Switch will have physical editions available. Fans can grab their copies for $40, and preordering will unlock some exclusive in-game bonuses.

When you preorder any version of the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, you’ll receive a few cool extras, including two custom main menu designs featuring Geo Stelar and Omega-Xis, along with four exclusive arranged tracks for the in-game music player. Here’s what you can look forward to:

– Geo Stelar (Casual Wear) Main Menu Character Model
– Omega-Xis Main Menu Character Model
– Additional arranged music tracks:
– “Loneliness” – Summer Shade Version
– “Astro Wave” – Brilliant Expanse Version
– “Anthem of the Solitary” – Howling Void Version
– “Cheerful Indoors” – School Days Version

The Mega Man Star Force series is a continuation of the Mega Man Battle Network saga, offering a fresh 3D spin on the fast-paced, grid-based RPG battles that fans love. The story follows Geo, a young boy who merges with Omega-Xis to become Mega Man. Each of the three games features different versions, with the first installment offering three: Leo, Dragon, and Pegasus. Each version presents variations on the same narrative, complete with unique playable characters, bosses, and transformations.

While you can dive into the Star Force series without prior experience with the Battle Network games, newcomers looking to catch up can find physical copies of the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection for $20.51 on Switch or $18 on PS4. PC players can snag it for just $17.39 at Fanatical. Like the Star Force Legacy Collection, it includes all versions of each Battle Network game and comes packed with bonus content like art galleries and an in-game music player.

Additionally, several other physical Mega Man Legacy Collections are currently available, along with the latest entry in the main series, Mega Man 11. With Capcom recently announcing a new title, Mega Man Dual Overdrive, set to release in 2027, there’s plenty of time to explore the rich history of the franchise. Here’s a rundown of the physical Mega Man games on sale—most are for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, but remember that PS4 titles are playable on PS5, and Switch games will work on Switch 2.
