Avatar 4 Welcomes a New Narrator, Actor Reveals Early Announcement from 12 Years Ago

Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully has led viewers through the stunning world of Pandora across all three films in the Avatar series. However, it seems that the Toruk Makto is making way for a new perspective in the upcoming installments.

“I narrate the next one, [Avatar 4],” revealed Sigourney Weaver, who portrays the young Na’vi prodigy Kiri. “It’s a significant part of Kiri’s journey in the saga.”

Weaver shared that she was informed back in 2013, around the time the Avatar sequels were being developed, that the next two films would represent a “big shift.”

“[James Cameron] may have altered some concepts, but [Avatar 4 and Avatar 5] are still, as far as I know, based on what he wrote back then… it’s a major change in four and five,” Weaver noted.

Avatar 4 is currently slated for release on December 21, 2029, although there are ongoing discussions about Cameron potentially taking a less active role in the next two sequels. However, the director himself doesn’t seem to agree with that notion.

“I mean, there’s no reason not to. I’m healthy, I’m good to go,” Cameron stated.

Still, he acknowledges that it’s not a definite plan. “I’m not going to rule it out. I mean, I’ve got to approach it vigorously to manage the kind of volume and energy required for another six or seven years. You know what I mean? I might not be able to do that.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently in theaters, and Marvel fans have an extra treat with a teaser for Avengers: Doomsday.
