Analyst Suggests a Price Increase for GTA 6 Could Be Wise
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch next year, and one of the big questions on everyone’s mind is its price. Analysts are weighing in with their predictions, and the conversation is heating up. Serkan Toto and Piers Harding-Rolls believe the standard edition will likely fall between $70 and $80, while deluxe editions could exceed $100. Some speculate that the standard edition might even hit the $100 mark, with analyst Vic Bassey stating, “If there was any game likely to cross the $100 threshold, it would be GTA 6.” Although he doubts it will reach that price, he suggests a price increase is plausible given the immense hype. “Based on the level of excitement surrounding the game, it would be wise for Take-Two to consider a price hike—though $100 might be pushing it,” he noted.
Another aspect to consider is the anticipated online mode for GTA 6. Rhys Elliott pointed out that Rockstar might benefit from keeping the standard edition’s price lower to attract a larger player base, which could then transition to GTA Online. “Setting a high base price could limit the initial audience and slow the migration from GTA 5 to GTA 6, ultimately affecting the growth of the GTA Online community,” he explained, emphasizing that the online mode is expected to be a significant revenue source in the long run. After several delays, GTA 6 is now scheduled for release in November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC version likely to follow later.
