Developers hint at a K-Pop-inspired character cut from Dispatch, suggesting, “We should consider this for Season 2—if it happens.”

Dispatch almost introduced a character that would have seamlessly blended into the vibrant universe of Netflix’s animated musical hit, KPop Demon Hunters.

In a chat with an outlet, Dispatch writer and AdHoc Studio co-founder Pierre Shorette shared that the team envisioned a hero named Winter, a “K-pop star” with a “Korean idol-y face” who “looked like a Saja Boy undercover.”

However, game director and fellow co-founder Nick Herman had a different take, recalling that Winter “dressed like a Japanese homeless man.” Shorette quickly clarified, “But the vibe was one of those homeless people where you’re like, damn, you should be on a runway.”

AdHoc couldn’t have predicted that 2025 would see KPop Demon Hunters explode in popularity, and they acknowledged that, in hindsight, it was a significant missed opportunity to include Winter. But there’s still a chance for Winter or a similar concept to make a comeback.

“We actually had a love triangle with him,” Shorette revealed. “He was the one everyone was after. Yeah, that would have been great. We should do that for Season 2. If there is a Season 2!”

The TellTale-style superhero workplace comedy has turned out to be a massive, somewhat unexpected success for its developers. The game sold over one million copies in just 10 days, far exceeding their expectations, which makes the possibility of a second season even more enticing. It has since surpassed the two million sales milestone.

Dispatch is currently available on PC and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version set to launch in January 2026.
