Fans Speculate That Battlefield 6 Features AI-Generated Art Similar to Call of Duty

Players of Battlefield 6 are buzzing with speculation that the game may incorporate AI-generated art. Some believe that certain player emblems in Battlefield 6 were partially created using generative AI systems, although there’s no solid proof or official word from the developers on this matter. Observers have noted some peculiarities in the artwork that have fueled these theories.

In October, DICE’s GM Rebecka Coutaz mentioned that EA’s teams utilize generative AI during the early development phases to foster creativity, but she clarified that Battlefield 6 does not contain any content generated by AI. She expressed optimism about the technology, stating, “If we can break the magic with AI it will help us be more innovative and more creative.” Developer Fasahat “Fas” Salim encouraged a positive view of generative AI in game development, emphasizing the need to find productive ways to integrate it into future projects. “It’s just a matter of how we can incorporate that productively into our workflows; how can we leverage that to take our games to the next level,” he noted.

Coutaz also remarked on the allure of using generative AI in game creation. It’s not surprising to hear EA developers speak positively about AI, as other executives, including CEO Andrew Wilson, have indicated that these tools will benefit EA in the long run. Wilson acknowledged that while the adoption of AI technologies might lead to some job losses, it is expected to create more opportunities over time. Previously, EA Sports mentioned that CFB 25 might not have reached its potential without the aid of machine learning and AI.

Beyond EA, Sony has been leveraging AI tools in game development for years, citing machine-learning systems as instrumental in accelerating the development of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Meanwhile, developers of Battlefield’s competitor, Call of Duty, have openly admitted to using generative AI to enhance their development processes. The conversation around AI in gaming has been reignited recently, particularly following controversial remarks from Larian’s Swen Vincke. Additionally, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 faced backlash when one of its Game of the Year awards was revoked due to AI involvement. As of now, Battlefield 6 stands as the best-selling game of 2025 in the US, even surpassing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
