Beloved Game Set to Shut Down Servers and Be Removed from Stores Soon
2K Sports has announced that WWE 2K24 will be removed from digital storefronts on January 31, 2026, with online servers going offline on March 31, 2026. This update was shared on the game’s Steam page and applies to all console versions as well. Once the servers are shut down, any game features that rely on online connectivity will cease to function. Although the server closure was initially confirmed on December 8, it gained more attention recently. Players can still access offline modes like Play Now and Showcase after the servers are disabled. Additionally, all virtual currency, DLC, and add-ons will be taken off the market on January 31, 2026, coinciding with the game’s delisting. WWE 2K24 launched in March 2024, meaning the servers will have been active for nearly two years. While this news is disappointing for those who enjoy online play, it’s a common occurrence in the sports gaming landscape, as seen with 2K’s recent shutdown of online services for The Golf Club 2019 and PGA Tour 2K21. The latest entry in the WWE series, WWE 2K25, was released in March 2025.
