Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Steelbook Edition Returns for Amazon Shoppers
Amazon has restocked its exclusive collectible Mirror Edition of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Launched earlier this month, this edition features a physical copy of the recently awarded Game of the Year at The Game Awards, along with a stylish steelbook case, three collectible art cards, and an oversized display box adorned with new artwork. Finding physical copies of Clair Obscur for PlayStation 5 has proven more difficult than for Xbox. As of December 22, Amazon’s $60 Mirror Edition is the only PS5 physical edition available. The standard PS5 edition is currently “temporarily out of stock” at Amazon, but orders can still be placed. However, the standard edition is priced at $60—$10 above the original $50 MSRP—matching the price of the Mirror Edition. Other major retailers are sold out of the PS5 standard edition, and GameStop’s exclusive $70 Lumiere Edition is also unavailable. The standard Xbox edition is priced at $50 and remains in stock at several major retailers, while Steam keys are available for just $36 at a sister site.

Sandfall Interactive’s debut game has exceeded expectations, currently boasting a 92 on Metacritic from critics—including a 9/10 from one outlet—and a 9.6/10 user score. Alongside its Game of the Year win at this year’s Game Awards, Clair Obscur also secured GameSpot’s GOTY award. Following these accolades, it was revealed that Sandfall Interactive utilized Generative AI during the game’s development. While AI-generated artwork is not present in the current version, “temporary placeholder textures” were unintentionally included in the April launch build, according to Sandfall. In light of this revelation, The Indie Game Awards has retroactively disqualified Clair Obscur for breaching the organization’s rules against the use of Generative AI, resulting in the loss of two awards: Best Debut Indie Game and Game of the Year.
