Classic Pink Panther Films Set to Release on 4K Blu-ray Next Week

The Pink Panther franchise is iconic, especially known for its catchy theme tune. If you haven’t experienced it yet, you can snag four classic films in stunning 4K Blu-ray starting December 30. Each release comes with a standard Blu-ray disc featuring the movie and special extras. Preorders are currently available at a discounted price of $31.49 (down from $45). Here’s a rundown of the four upcoming Pink Panther 4K Blu-rays, along with preorder links for those interested.

These releases cover most of the main films featuring Peter Sellers as Inspector Jacques Clouseau, though the third installment, Return of the Pink Panther, is set to hit 4K Blu-ray in 2026. All films are freshly remastered from 4K scans of the original camera negatives and include bonus content like behind-the-scenes documentaries and audio commentary. While the special features come from the 2000s DVD releases and are in standard definition, they still offer an insightful look into the Pink Panther films and their enduring influence on pop culture.

Though Sellers passed away in 1980, the franchise has continued with various spin-offs and remakes, many of which are available on DVD and Blu-ray for collectors. This includes Trail of the Pink Panther, a 1982 film composed entirely of deleted scenes and outtakes, which is generally disliked by fans. Curse of the Pink Panther attempted to reboot the series in 1983 with Ted Wass as the bumbling American detective Clifton Sleigh, while 1993’s Son of the Pink Panther featured Roberto Benigni as Clouseau’s illegitimate son. Both films received poor reception, leading to a reboot in 2006 with Steve Martin taking on the role of Clouseau. A sequel starring Martin followed in 2009, and these films are relatively easy to find on Blu-ray.
