Paradise Killer Is Free This Week on the Epic Games Store
The Epic Games Store has refreshed its holiday giveaway lineup with a new free title, and this week’s offering is Paradise Killer, a critically praised open-world mystery adventure. PC players can claim the game at no cost, but only for a short window, making it another limited-time highlight of Epic’s festive promotion.
Epic’s annual holiday giveaway began earlier this month and has already delivered several high-profile titles. Games like Hogwarts Legacy helped kick off the promotion, followed by a rotating selection of indie and cult favourites. Most recently, Blood West and Sorry We’re Closed were available before being replaced by Paradise Killer as the latest free drop.
More about Paradise Killer
Unlike many traditional detective games, Paradise Killer takes a more open-ended approach to solving its central mystery. Developed by UK-based Kaizen Game Works and published by Fellow Traveller, the game places players on a surreal island paradise where they must investigate a locked-room murder. There are no forced solutions or linear paths; instead, players explore freely, gather clues at their own pace, and ultimately decide how to present their case.
One of the game’s standout qualities is its striking visual style. The island blends brutalist architecture with neon colours and vaporwave-inspired aesthetics, creating a setting that feels both dreamy and unsettling. This unique presentation is matched by a synth-heavy soundtrack that has been widely praised for enhancing the game’s atmosphere and sense of isolation.
Paradise Killer was well received at launch and continues to enjoy strong community support years later. Critics applauded its unconventional design and trust in player agency, while fans highlighted its memorable cast of characters and replay value. The freedom to approach investigations differently each time encourages experimentation and multiple playthroughs, something rarely seen in the genre.
This marks the first time Paradise Killer has been offered for free on the Epic Games Store, making it a notable addition to the platform’s growing list of giveaways. Players who add the game to their library during the promotion will keep it permanently, even after the offer expires.
As with other Epic holiday freebies, Paradise Killer is expected to be replaced soon by another surprise title. Players interested in atmospheric storytelling and unconventional detective gameplay should not miss the chance to grab it while it’s available.
