Your Ultimate Guide to Fortnite Chapter 7: Best Landing Spots, Boss Locations, Mythics, and Hot-Air Balloon Routes

December 23, 2025: The mini season of The Simpsons has wrapped up, and we’re diving headfirst into Chapter 7 Season 1. This means it’s time to revamp this guide with all the essential drop locations and boss spawn points you need to know.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1, dubbed Pacific Break, introduces a vibrant West Coast-themed map filled with film studios, casinos, golf courses, tech labs, and theme parks.

Getting accustomed to a new Fortnite map can feel daunting, so this guide will cover everything from how rift anomalies shift each round to locating mythic weapons and the significance of those floating hot air balloons.

For a detailed look at the new weapons and items available, check out the weapons tier list and loadout guide.

First up, let’s explore the full map, known as Golden Coast.

Isn’t it stunning? This is one of the most intricate and diverse Fortnite maps I can recall, and you don’t have to land at a named POI to score great loot.

At the season’s launch, the Battle Bus was out of commission, and players had to surf in from the storm’s edge. But now, the bus is back in action, allowing you to drop wherever you fancy, and the Winterfest update has blanketed the top of the map in snow.

You might also notice a triangular storm shape instead of the usual circle; this has a low chance of occurring in any match. When you reach the final moving storm, it will revert to a circle.

The Winterfest update not only adds snow but also brings festive changes to Fortnite.

Christmas trees with chests underneath can be found at most POIs, giving you fresh loot spots.

You can also find Christmas presents scattered around the map. If you toss them down, they’ll create a giant gift box. Smash it open for solid loot, including a chance to snag Shockwave grenades.

New items include the sneaky snowman, snowball launcher, blizzard grenade, and icy feet. While they don’t shift the meta, they add some fun twists to gameplay.

Additionally, a new boss, the Yule Trooper, has joined the fray, which we’ll cover in the boss section.

This season features three bosses: Beach Brutus, Hush, and Human Bill, with the Yule Trooper making an appearance for Winterfest.

Instead of fixed spawn points, these bosses drop in at random locations at the start of each round. You can spot them jumping out of the Battle Bus, leaving a golden trail behind. While it’s tricky to pinpoint their exact landing spots since the trail fades quickly, it gives you a general idea of their direction.

If you see a boss icon nearby—a skull with a crown—head towards it. Just be cautious, as that icon could represent a boss or a player who has already taken one down. Bosses remain stationary, but if the icon is moving a lot, it’s likely a player.

Boss encounters are manageable, and you can typically take them down with basic weapons.

Upon defeat, each boss drops a mythic version of one of the game’s weapons, all boasting enhanced stats.

Hush drops the mythic Deadeye assault rifle, Brutus drops the mythic Twin Hammer shotguns, Human Bill drops the mythic Arc-Lightning gun, and the Yule Trooper drops a mythic Holo SMG.

Bosses also drop a “transformation kit.” Equipping one transforms you into the boss, granting extra health and shield along with a unique ability: low-gravity for Human Bill, shield regeneration for Brutus, blink-style teleports called Zero Point dashes for Hush, and icy feet for the Yule Trooper, allowing for faster, slipperier movement.

However, these kits come with three significant drawbacks. First, they occupy an inventory slot. Second, they reveal your exact location on the map at all times. Third, when you take damage, your health bar becomes visible to enemies. Personally, I don’t find them worth the trade-off.

The boss mythics aren’t the only ones available in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1; there are two additional mythics that the game doesn’t explicitly mention, which you can earn by completing challenges in specific locations.

The Pinpoint Iron Pump Shotgun is a mythic version of the iron pump shotgun. To obtain it, you’ll need to lift a giant weight at Ripped Tides, located in the west of the map.

Before attempting this feat, grab the steaks scattered around the POI to help you lift it more efficiently.

The Enhanced Enforcer assault rifle is arguably the toughest mythic to acquire. You’ll need to drive a car over a large stunt ramp on the east side of the map, just north of Classified Canyon. This mythic has a chance to drop afterward.

Cars are scarcer than ever this season, so I don’t usually plan for this jump, but if you find a vehicle in the area, give it a shot. Make sure to drive to the higher part of the ramp first and boost as you approach the end to make the jump.

As you explore the map, keep an eye out for small golden portals. Entering these portals—known as Forsaken Vow Rift Gates—grants you the Forsaken Vow Blade, one of the best mobility items in the game.

While it’s a melee weapon, I recommend using it for mobility instead: right-click to slash in the direction you’re facing, even upwards. A few slashes can help you escape tight situations.

You’ll know a rift gate is nearby when you see the yellow icon on your minimap.

It’s official: Fortnite has embraced time travel.

If you spot a car icon on your map, it indicates a DeLorean—the iconic vehicle from the Back to the Future films—is nearby. If you accelerate enough while driving it, you’ll trigger a mini cutscene as you travel through a time vortex, returning with a shiny crate on top of your car.

Opening that crate reveals high-rarity weapons from Fortnite’s past.

Gold is more crucial than ever: in previous chapters, it carried over between rounds, but now everyone starts each match with zero. Every chest contains gold, and cash registers and safes provide extra.

To spend your gold on valuable loot, locate a vending machine. They’re plentiful across various POIs and will automatically appear on your map and minimap as you approach. The game will also ping them when you have enough gold. I recommend seeking them out once you’ve built up a stash.

This season’s must-have item is the self-revive, available for 2,500 from a medical vending machine. If you can’t afford that, still prioritize weapons, ammo, and healing items.

Hot air balloons drift above the Chapter 7 map, serving as a slow-moving transport system that connects various stops, with each journey taking a couple of minutes.

You can find them by looking up or by checking your map, where the stations are marked with a wind-sock icon.

Are they worth using? They’re not the most efficient mode of transport, but they do provide automatic high ground, and the compartments in their baskets often drop solid loot. I’ve had success jumping onto one with a Deadeye assault rifle and picking off enemies below.

No more trekking miles to reboot a teammate: some reboot vans are now driveable in Fortnite Chapter 7! If you spot one in team modes, hop in and use it to navigate the map—you’ll also encounter static vans.

Rebooting has also seen improvements: you can now pick up downed teammates and toss them into the van to initiate the reboot process, eliminating the need to walk up and hold a key for 10 seconds. You can even drive away from danger while your teammate is being rebooted.

New to Chapter 7 are rift anomalies, which are map-wide conditions that can trigger at the end of a storm circle. So far, I’ve identified four:

This season’s map is impressively balanced, with most locations being viable drop spots, but there are a few priorities to keep in mind.

First, target bosses for their mythic drops. These spawns are random, but if you see one on your minimap as you drop, head straight for it.

Second, vending machines are crucial for upgrading your gear. Don’t rush to them; instead, loot the surrounding area for gold first, then buy what you need.

Third, keep an eye out for the Forsaken Vow Blade, which spawns in portals at designated locations, as mentioned earlier.

With that in mind, here are four drop spots I’m currently enjoying:
