Sonic Fans Demand Refunds After Disappointing Year-Long Wait for Shadow Generations Collector’s Edition
Sonic fans had to endure a long wait for their special edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations from Limited Run Games. The remastered collection finally dropped in October 2024, but due to numerous shipping delays, it took a staggering 14 months for the special edition to reach fans. Was the wait justified? Not at all.
Many fans are reporting issues with the Sonic and Shadow statues included in the package. Some have scratches, others feature misprinted eyes, and one unfortunate fan received a Shadow statue with a broken nose. Priced at $249.99 before taxes and shipping, it’s understandable that frustration would boil over after such a lengthy wait only to receive damaged goods.

As of now, Limited Run Games hasn’t addressed fans’ concerns regarding the damaged statues, and some users claim the company has distanced itself from posts discussing the issue. We’ve reached out for comment and will provide updates if we receive a response.
Regardless, I hope those who received disappointing collector’s editions still enjoyed the game. Shadow Generations is arguably the best Sonic title in years and deserved a much better statue. Fortunately, there are other editions available that boast higher quality and are selling for less than Limited Run’s offering.
Limited Run is facing backlash from Sonic fans, but it seems the company has bigger issues at hand, as it is currently embroiled in a lawsuit for allegedly violating the Video Privacy Protection Act and selling user data to Meta.
