007 First Light is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2.

After a series of delays, the young James Bond adventure, 007 First Light, finally has a confirmed release date for the Nintendo Switch 2. This announcement comes after months of uncertainty surrounding the game, which made its debut on consoles and PC back in May. Switch 2 players can look forward to exploring the globe on March 18, 2027, and as a bonus for the wait, developer IO Interactive has revealed a GoldenEye-themed surprise.

“The development team will use the coming months to continue refining the game’s optimization and performance on Nintendo Switch 2, ensuring it meets the standard players expect at launch,” IO Interactive stated in a recent announcement.

The 007 First Light – Deluxe Edition will retail for $69.99, and those who preorder will gain early access to a stylish new GoldenEye Suit. The Switch 2 version will also feature shiny gold gadgets and four unique skins for Tacsim missions: Day of the Dead, Desert Explorer, Silent Anchor, and Gentleman Operator. Additionally, the Amazon-exclusive 007 First Light – Specialist Edition will offer an exclusive Classic Tuxedo skin for those moments when you want Bond to look particularly dapper while taking down foes. This edition will be available on a game-key card, a common format for physical third-party releases on Switch 2.

007 First Light serves as an origin story for James Bond, guiding players through his 00 training and into his first major adventure around the world. IO Interactive has successfully reimagined the character, filling the game with entertaining moments, including an action montage tutorial and a bow tie minigame. The game has received widespread acclaim and is considered a strong contender for the 2026 Game of the Year award.

The journey of 007 First Light to the Nintendo Switch 2 has been lengthy. It faced a delay just a month before its May launch on other platforms, which followed an earlier postponement. Originally slated for a summer 2026 release, it was pushed back again last month to March 2027. Let’s hope there are no further delays.

The game’s Expanded Operations add-on is available today.
