007 First Light Unveils Major Content Update with New Missions and Features
In June, IO Interactive unveiled a roadmap for upcoming content in 007 First Light, featuring a story DLC mission focused on the notorious pirate king, Bawma. The first content update for this James Bond origin story launched on Friday, introducing two exciting new TacSim missions.
The mission titled “The Workshop” sends Bond into Q’s workshop for a stealth operation. Players will need to rely on their cunning, gadgets, and hand-to-hand combat skills to silently eliminate foes while making their escape. In contrast, “Extraction Avenue” requires a more aggressive approach, as players must shoot their way through enemies before reinforcements arrive.
Three new weapons have also been added to TacSim: the Stormberg 50’cal pistol (Clearance Level 10), the DRX-2 Machine Pistol (Clearance Level 12), and the DRS-7 Silenced SMG (Clearance Level 16). Each weapon will cost 3,000 intel to unlock. Additionally, a stylish new outfit for Bond, the relaxed Diamond in the Rough, is available at Clearance Level 18 for the same intel cost.
The patch is under 4 GB in size, except for PlayStation users, where it weighs in at a substantial 23.84 GB. It also includes numerous bug fixes and stability enhancements. The team expressed their dedication to improving the 007 First Light experience with this update.
Fixes address various issues, including crashes on Xbox Series S, animation tweaks, and corrections for translation errors. Players can find the complete patch notes on IO Interactive’s site.
Our experience with James Bond’s origin story was enjoyable. We noted that 007 First Light is a visually stunning and well-crafted game that truly lives up to its title. The game received critical acclaim upon release and quickly established itself as a contender for game of the year. It’s available on PlayStation, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version expected later this year.
