3D Platformer Become Explores a Unique Twist on Finding Nemo with a Sperm Fish Protagonist

Become, the upcoming 3D platformer from indie developer Valentin Wirth, offers a unique twist on the classic coming-of-age story. Instead of following a young person’s moral journey through adolescence, this game takes players on the physical journey of a sperm cell racing against millions of others for the ultimate prize: the chance to fertilize an egg and create life. It’s a narrative filled with survival, growth, creativity, and self-discovery, all set within the human reproductive system. It’s a bildungsroman, but with a twist.

Since its announcement, Become has caught attention for its playful approach to its subject matter and vibrant visuals. The game’s trailer kicks off with the phrase “Deep inside the balls” in a whimsical font reminiscent of Finding Nemo, showcasing sperm cells navigating lush, underwater-like environments while donning quirky accessories like cowboy hats and shark costumes. The Steam page describes Become as a “short single player, third person adventure” where players must “learn, adapt, and grow stronger as they explore the fascinating but dangerous microcosm of the human reproductive system.”

From the early build featured in the trailer, it appears the game will include a skill progression system with creatively (and provocatively) named upgrades such as “Busty Bouncer” and “Got Milk.” The specifics of the bonuses these skills provide are left to your imagination.

Wirth, a first-time solo developer with experience in cinematic and art roles for titles like Mafia III and Crime Boss: Rockay City, plans to release Become on PC sometime in 2026. As he humorously noted in the trailer, “If I don’t f*ck it up.” Here’s hoping both the game and the sperm stay on course for launch.
