A massive $7 billion Dragon Ball Z theme park is officially on the way.
Dragon Ball Z is famous for its epic fusions and team-ups, but this collaboration is one we didn’t see coming. Recently, it was announced that France and Saudi Arabia are teaming up to create a manga-themed amusement park inspired by Dragon Ball Z, set to be built northwest of Paris. The project will cost around €6 billion ($7 billion).
The concept for this Dragon Ball theme park originated during a 2025 meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where both leaders discovered their mutual admiration for Akira Toriyama’s legendary franchise.
Financing for the project will come from Qiddiya, a Saudi entertainment and investment group, which is also behind the Dragon Ball theme park being developed in Qiddiya City, an entertainment hub near Riyadh. That park is set to feature over five rides, 30 attractions, a towering 230-foot Shenron, along with hotels and restaurants.
This Dragon Ball theme park is just one part of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to enhance its image through sports and entertainment initiatives. The country has previously launched the LIV Golf league and recently completed the acquisition of gaming giant EA through its Public Investment Fund, among other ventures.
While Saudi Arabia is often criticized for its authoritarian regime and human rights violations, including capital punishment for nonviolent offenses and severe restrictions on free speech, the announcement did not include any details about the park’s opening date or construction timeline. This Dragon Ball theme park is one of three planned amusement parks in the Paris area.
