A New Chapter in Dragon Ball Unveiled: Introducing the Age 1000 Project

A new chapter in the Dragon Ball universe is on the horizon with an exciting project known as Age 1000, as revealed during the recent Dragon Ball Genkidama Matsuri event. This upcoming game aims to deliver “a brand-new Dragon Ball world” featuring original characters crafted by the legendary creator Akira Toriyama.

The teaser trailer for Age 1000 showcases a never-before-seen character, designed by Toriyama prior to his passing in 2024. According to the official description, this project will “introduce even more unique characters as the adventure unfolds.”

While the spotlight is on this unnamed original character from Capsule Corporation, marked with the initials “GS,” the trailer also pays homage to some of the franchise’s most beloved heroes and villains. As the camera zooms into the new character’s eye, fans catch glimpses of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, Beerus, and others, culminating in a moment where the mysterious character transforms into a Super Saiyan.

Fans of the series will recognize Age 1000 as the setting for Dragon Ball Online, the MMORPG that launched in select Asian markets in 2010. Although the servers for Dragon Ball Online have since been shut down, many elements and characters from that game were later integrated into the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series, which emphasized original, customizable characters and a journey through Dragon Ball’s rich history.

The Age 1000 project is set to launch in 2027 on yet-to-be-announced platforms. More information about the game is expected to be unveiled at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, taking place in the U.S. on April 18-19.
