A new series reimagines Green Lantern as a magical girl.

Adult Swim’s *My Adventures with Superman* has reimagined the iconic Man of Steel by blending comic book action with the vibrant energy of shonen anime. Now, the series is set to explore another beloved genre with *My Adventures with Green Lantern*, transforming Green Lantern Jessica Cruz into a magical girl.

Jessica Cruz, voiced by Auliʻi Cravalho, known for her role in *Moana*, made her debut at a comic convention during the season 3 premiere of *My Adventures with Superman*. The upcoming spinoff will center on her life as a student at Hal Jordan Memorial High in Coast City. As she navigates her fears, she will train in a mystical temple under the guidance of Kilowog. A clip showcased at the Annecy Festival 2026 features her not only reciting the iconic Green Lantern oath, “In brightest day, in darkest night,” but also singing it as she undergoes a magical girl transformation.

While the villains in *My Adventures with Superman* are often linked to Krypton or Kryptonian tech, co-showrunner Jake Wyatt mentioned that *My Adventures with Green Lantern* will take a fresh approach in designing the Red and Yellow Lanterns that Jessica will face.

“We wanted to get weird with the bad guys,” Wyatt explained. “We needed hot evil people to scare the hell out of Jess and her buddies.”

Among those buddies is Kyle Rayner, the star pitcher on the baseball team at Hal Jordan High.

“I’m a kid from the ‘90s,” Wyatt noted. “Kyle was the young gun Lantern of his day.”

Alex DeWitt, Kyle’s girlfriend from the comics who faced a tragic fate, will also play a significant role. “She is everything Jessica thinks she should be,” Wyatt said. “She is tall, blonde, and better than softball. But Alex is going to have her own problems.”

As of now, no release date has been announced for *My Adventures with Green Lantern*.

The Adult Swim series is mixing genres in exciting ways, and fans are eager to see the results.
