A top genre-defying game of 2025 is now available on Xbox and Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass is set to welcome an exciting lineup of new titles this March, with the standout addition being Absolum, one of the top action games from last year.

Developed by Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, Absolum blends side-scrolling beat-’em-up mechanics with roguelike elements, fusing retro arcade aesthetics with contemporary design. The combat system is intricate, featuring a mix of melee strikes and elemental abilities for players to wield.

“It’s elegantly retro, tempting me to chain together basic attacks and spell uses and rack up massive combo chains. The combat is deceptively rich too, with punish attacks (hits during an enemy’s attack recovery) and aerial maneuvers that make it feel like a fighting game when executed at a high level,” noted a review.

The game has garnered positive reception, boasting an 86 critic score and a 90 player rating. After its initial release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, and Windows PC, Absolum will make its debut on Xbox Series X and Game Pass on March 25.

This year is shaping up to be fantastic for fans of swordplay.

Also joining Xbox Game Pass is Disco Elysium, a groundbreaking RPG from 2019 that has left a significant mark on the genre, despite its tumultuous development history. Players take on the role of a detective solving murders and interrogating suspects while grappling with amnesia about his own past. Your decisions shape his character, allowing you to mold him into a hero or a chaotic figure. “The way the game’s systems interact, holding true to their own rules while allowing you to stray so far in multiple directions, turns Disco Elysium into a pure role-playing experience that feels wondrous and unique compared to its peers. I never feel like my lack of certain skills hinders my ability to progress; it simply pushes me toward more interesting solutions,” a review from 2019 highlighted. You can dive into it on Xbox Game Pass starting March 19.

There are even more games set to arrive on Xbox Game Pass in the coming weeks, along with additional titles being added to various tiers. Here’s the complete list of new arrivals for the remainder of March:

A couple of titles will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on March 31.

The start of March also saw the arrival of must-play games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Planet of Lana 2 on Xbox Game Pass.
