A top-tier Soulslike is now available on PlayStation Plus.
On Wednesday, Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled the new titles set to join the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in July. Starting July 15, subscribers to PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra will see additions like Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
Rise of the Ronin is a Soulslike game crafted by Team Ninja, known for their work on Nioh. Set during the tumultuous final years of the Edo period and the Boshin War, the game explores Japan’s rapid modernization and Western influence. Players can align with various factions—whether pro- or anti-shogunate or Westerners—shaping the narrative and its conclusion based on their choices. Expect to traverse Japan while engaging in combat with an array of weapons, including a classic katana and an odachi. The inclusion of a glider and grappling hook enhances movement options, adding a fresh twist to the typical Soulslike experience. “Rise of the Ronin is an adventure worthy of Team Ninja’s pedigree, and a world I enthusiastically look forward to losing myself in for many more hours to come,” was noted in a review of the game.
The new titles in the Game Catalog will be released on staggered dates. Rise of the Ronin is currently available for US subscribers. Here’s a look at the other titles joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in July 2026 and their availability for US players:
