Additional Tomb Raider Titles Could Be Headed to Switch 2

Last month, the Switch and Switch 2 versions of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, the 2013 reboot that revitalized Lara Croft’s legacy, were unexpectedly launched. The response has been so positive that there’s potential for more Tomb Raider titles to arrive on Switch 2. In a recent discussion, Aspyr’s product manager Jordon Reese was asked about the chances of the other games in the Survivor trilogy—Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider—making their way to the new console. While Reese didn’t confirm these titles outright, he hinted that it’s a possibility. “We’ve successfully brought back the classic era [Tomb Raider 1-6] and now the origin story of Lara Croft to modern Nintendo platforms,” he stated. “We can’t announce anything at the moment, but the passionate response to this release is strong encouragement for us to continue exploring those possibilities.” He also mentioned that additional patches for the Switch ports of Tomb Raider are on the way, though he didn’t provide specifics. Additionally, a mobile version of Tomb Raider is set to launch in February 2026. The franchise’s next two installments were revealed recently, with Crystal Dynamics planning to release a remake of the original game, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, in 2026, followed by Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a fresh adventure for Lara Croft, in 2027. Camilla Luddington, who voiced Lara throughout the Survivor trilogy, recently bid farewell to the role and extended her best wishes to her successor, Alix Wilton Regan. Meanwhile, a Tomb Raider TV series is in the works at Prime Video, featuring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, alongside Sigourney Weaver, Martin Bobb-Semple, and Jason Isaacs in supporting roles, though a release date has yet to be announced.
