Adobe Aims to Simplify AI Tools in Premiere for All Users
Adobe is revamping the way video editors engage with AI in its Premiere software. The new Generative Media tool streamlines the process of creating video, sound effects, music, and soundscapes directly within the project timeline. While the generators themselves aren’t entirely new, the significant improvement lies in their accessibility, allowing for a smoother workflow.
Editors can now simply highlight an empty space on the video or audio track to generate context-aware, fully editable clips without leaving the project. They have the option to select from various underlying models right in the timeline, including Adobe Firefly, Google Veo, Runway, Luma, and Kling, ensuring a perfect fit for their project’s style.
Additionally, Premiere is introducing new AI audio tools (currently in beta) that can separate overlapping speakers, automatically lower music during speech, and independently adjust dialogue and ambient sounds. Adobe is also extending its AI Assistant to After Effects (also in beta), enabling editors to use plain-language commands to reorganize projects, resolve technical issues, and create effects without needing to write expressions.
