Affordable Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Lego Sets Now Up for Grabs

Lego Mario Kart characters are now racing alongside Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles with the debut of the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Lego sets. Just a year after Lego Super Mario ventured beyond traditional platforming with buildable karts, Lego Sonic the Hedgehog has made its way to the racetrack. The initial lineup for Lego Sonic Racing features Sonic’s Speedster Lightning Car and a two-pack that pits Silver’s Car against Knuckles’ Monster Truck. Below, you can find details on both Lego Sonic Racing sets, along with a list of currently available Lego Sonic platforming playsets.

Several Sonic Lego sets are set to retire soon, including the most expensive build in the collection. The 590-piece Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster set is currently priced at $48 (down from $80) at the Lego Store and $64 on Amazon. If you haven’t picked up a copy of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds yet, the Amazon-exclusive edition, which includes a bonus double-sided poster, is available for $45 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.

Here’s a rundown of the Sonic the Hedgehog Lego sets and their deals:

The Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster set is among the few Sonic playsets that have recently been discontinued. If you’re eyeing Shadow’s Escape, Knuckles’ Guardian Mech, or Tails’ Adventure Boat, it’s best to grab them soon, as they are likely to sell out quickly, similar to Knuckles and the Master Emerald Shrine and the Shadow the Hedgehog display model.

Amazon also has some deals on Sonic sets that aren’t retiring soon, such as Knuckles vs. Dr. Eggman Egg Crusher Mech for $40.49 (was $45) and Super Shadow vs. Biolizard for $39 (was $45). For those interested in a larger display model, the Lego Ideas: Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone is still available at around retail price from third-party sellers. This set, officially retired by Lego, was the first Sonic set and remains the only model with over 1,000 pieces.
