The classic 2003 wrestling game WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain has been missing a storyline guide, but one dedicated fan is on a mission to change that.

When discussing the greatest wrestling games of all time, two titles often dominate the conversation: the N64’s WWF No Mercy and the PS2’s WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain. While I lean towards WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw 2006, it’s hard to argue against the legendary status of Here Comes The Pain, especially considering it’s one of the few games that lets you leap from a helicopter onto your opponent.

ThisGenGaming, a creator of WWE Games content on YouTube, pointed out that despite WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain turning 23 this year, there hasn’t been a single storyline guide for its season mode. They’ve decided to take matters into their own hands, declaring, “23 years too long! But better late than never” as they set out to create a comprehensive guide.

In just one day, ThisGenGaming released four detailed guides on Twitter, covering Smackdown’s season modes from April to November, highlighting recommended choices, storylines, and hidden secrets that can vary based on your wrestler’s popularity.

They also announced plans to write guides for the December to March seasons later today, intending to share all the information in a text-only format. In a matter of hours, we’ve gone from having no guides for one of the best wrestling games ever to an extensive multi-part series. You certainly won’t find this level of commitment for some of the more mediocre entries like 2K18.
