AI-Powered Gaming Platform Attracts 10 Million Monthly Users
There’s a ton of AI-generated content flooding the gaming scene these days, and you might be asking, “Who’s actually into this?” Well, it turns out millions are, as evidenced by Astrocade, a free online platform dedicated to AI-generated games and experiences, which has now hit 10 million monthly users.
In a recent chat, Astrocade’s CEO Amir Sadeghian shared that the platform has seen explosive growth, doubling its user base from five million to ten million in just four months. Astrocade empowers anyone to craft games and interactive experiences using AI tools, allowing users to play creations made by others, much like Roblox.
“The core of our platform is the AI creation tools that enable everyone to be a creator,” Sadeghian explained. “Astrocade’s edge lies in our extensive data, which helps us train and enhance our models. We can develop models specifically designed to generate engaging content because we track the entire journey to fun. We handle distribution, creation, and recommendations, which is a significant advantage for us.”
The company is gearing up to launch an iOS app and is ramping up marketing efforts in the U.S. Despite not heavily pushing for growth in that region yet, Astrocade is already gaining traction.
When you dive into some of the most popular games on the platform, you’ll spot a variety of Minecraft clones, games featuring well-known characters, and imitations of popular Roblox titles like Steal a Brainrot. All of these were created using Astrocade’s AI tools and showcase AI-generated artwork. Nevertheless, players are enjoying them, with some titles racking up hundreds of thousands or even millions of plays. Similar to TikTok and other vertical video platforms, Astrocade’s games are designed for vertical play, allowing users to scroll through an endless feed driven by an algorithm.
However, Sadeghian clarifies that these aren’t just games; they’re “playables” that users can browse through like social media feeds. The vision for Astrocade includes educational content, AI companions, and interactive storytelling. The future of what’s available on the platform will largely depend on what creators produce with the AI tools. With the platform incentivizing creators financially for popular content, it’s likely we’ll see a surge of imitations of well-known games rather than many educational experiences.
“The technology on our creation side has advanced so much that it’s becoming difficult to tell these are AI-generated,” the CEO noted. “AI is now capable of writing code that surpasses many engineers. Even some 3D assets are reaching a level where they’re hard to distinguish from human-made creations.”
