AirPods Max 2 Now Available at a $150 Discount for the First Time

Walmart is offering the Apple AirPods Max 2 in all colors for just $399.99, down from the usual $549, marking the best deal we’ve seen so far. Amazon has the starlight color available at the same price. In our review, we highlighted the impressive sound quality, top-notch noise cancellation, and premium build of Apple’s latest over-ear headphones. The upgraded amplifier provides a boost to the same drivers found in the first-gen AirPods Max, now with USB-C, and the new processing chip enables features like live translation and conversation awareness.

However, this update doesn’t address some of the major shortcomings of the previous model. Notably, there’s no power button, meaning you’ll have to rely on the carrying case to put them to sleep, and they lose many of their unique features when paired with devices other than iOS. While the price has often been a concern, this discount aligns them more closely with our top pick for noise-cancelling headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM6.
