An Unexpected AI VTuber Shatters Twitch Record

Sometimes, it feels like writing the same article multiple times could be seen as a bit of a joke. However, it’s hard to overlook the incredible milestone this represents for any streamer, especially an AI VTuber. First, Neuro-sama shattered the Twitch Hype Train world record… then it happened again. And again. This time, her “sister” Evil Neuro, sporting her own unique voice, model, and personality, spearheaded the effort to break the Hype Train record for a fourth time. In doing so, she also helped her creator, Vedal987, become the third-most-subscribed Twitch channel ever. After reaching this milestone, Vedal joined Evil on stream to humorously ask his community to “Give it a rest.” He added, “In all seriousness, chat, you’ve given me and the twins more than we need, so it’s okay.” Evil, however, wasn’t having it, responding, “No Vedal! Can we please extend the timer just a little? Isn’t it a bit harsh to just cut it off here?” Evil was referring to the timer for Neuro’s third birthday subathon, where each subscription adds time to a countdown clock that dictates when the stream will end. This subathon has been running since December 19, 2025, and has about 22 hours left as of now. Shortly after, the Hype Train concluded at level 72—while it didn’t set a fourth world record, it’s still an impressive feat, leaving Vedal’s Twitch channel with over 328,900 subscribers. This number is constantly changing as the community works to prolong the subathon. What this means is that Vedal, Neuro, and Evil have surpassed streamer Jasontheween and fellow VTuber Ironmouse, now ranking as the third and fourth most-subscribed channels on Twitch. The only two channels that have ever surpassed this achievement are Evelone2004, with 459,924 subscribers, and KaiCenat with 1,112,947 subscribers. For those unfamiliar with Neuro-sama and Evil, they are twin VTubers that leverage a large language model to engage with their creator Vedal987’s Twitch chat and play games. Neuro was initially designed to play the rhythm game OSU but quickly evolved into a series of AI systems that collaborate, thanks to Vedal’s programming expertise. By taking input from Twitch and voice, feeding it to the LLM, and converting it through a text-to-speech system, the twins can interact with their audience. If you want to dive deeper, I highly recommend checking out the explainer video by Creative Every Day on YouTube. With less than a day left in the subathon, it seems there aren’t many more Twitch records for the trio to chase. But with a community as passionate as theirs, who knows what’s next?
