Anakin Skywalker Joins the Cast of the New Star Wars XCOM-Style Game
A fresh gameplay trailer for Star Wars Zero Company premiered at Summer Game Fest 2026, showcasing new characters and planets while hinting at the involvement of some iconic figures from the Clone Wars era, including General Skywalker. The release date is set for August.
The trailer gives us our first in-depth look at how players will lead an elite squad composed of misfits, rogues, and former criminals across various planets, utilizing controls reminiscent of the beloved turn-based strategy series. Blending Star Wars with this tactical gameplay feels like one of the most exciting ideas to emerge from the Galaxy Far, Far Away in years.
I’m genuinely thrilled about this new tactical Star Wars experience. I’ve always preferred Star Wars games that go beyond the typical action-adventure format, and Zero Company delivers exactly what I’m looking for in the franchise’s gaming lineup. The chance to navigate battlefields as droids and aliens, engaging in turn-based combat, sounds fantastic. I can’t wait to dive into this when it launches in just a few months, as hinted earlier this week.
Star Wars Zero Company is set to release on August 27 for $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
