Analogue is bringing back upgraded versions of its SNES and Genesis consoles.

Analogue has unveiled refreshed versions of its Super Nt and Mega Sg retro consoles, featuring a revamped industrial design and integrated wireless connectivity for controllers and accessories. The new Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus maintain the ability to play Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges, utilizing an FPGA processor that faithfully replicates the original 16-bit console experience without relying on emulation.

While these new models don’t support 4K resolution for SNES or Genesis games like the Analogue 3D does for Nintendo 64 titles, they do offer 1080p output. The Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus come equipped with a USB-C port for convenient power options using standard cables compatible with mobile devices, along with an additional USB-A port for connecting other peripherals. Both consoles also feature built-in Bluetooth and a low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connection, allowing for gamepad connectivity without the need for an extra controller port dongle.

Wired controllers remain a viable option, and users can power up the upgraded consoles remotely using the primary connected gamepad. Additionally, Analogue has introduced the ability to hot swap game cartridges without needing to fully power down the consoles after exiting a game through the menu.

Preorders for the Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus will open on October 19th at 9 AM PT/11 AM ET, priced at $219.99, with shipping anticipated to begin in December.
