Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Get Release-Day Delivery for the Switch 2 Edition on Amazon
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to drop this Thursday, January 15, for the Nintendo Switch 2. Both newcomers and dedicated fans eager for a fresh physical edition featuring the Switch 2 box art can secure their copy for $65 at various retailers. Prime members can enjoy free release-day delivery as of January 13. This marks the first Nintendo Switch 2 title from Nintendo, priced at $65. Interestingly, owners of the original game—whether physical or digital—can snag the Switch 2 Upgrade Pack for just $5 from the eShop or major retailers.
The Switch 2 version launches alongside the free New Horizons 3.0 content update, which brings exciting new features like Slumber Islands, the Resort Hotel facility, and even Lego furniture. By assisting Kapp’n and his family at the Resort Hotel, players can earn retro Nintendo hardware and toys to spruce up their homes. Just like in the GameCube version, players will have the chance to enjoy retro games within their villager’s home, provided they have a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo has confirmed that Game Boy, NES, and SNES titles will be supported through Switch Online.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is just one of several major titles coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the coming weeks. Next week, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will launch on Switch 2 for $40. The physical edition will be a Game-Key Card, but it won’t include a Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Booster Pack. In February, the first Mario sports game designed for Switch 2 will hit shelves. Mario Tennis Fever is available for preorder at $69 ahead of its February 12 release, launching alongside the newly announced Light Purple/Green Joy-Con 2 set.
