Animal Crossing: New Horizons Players Discover a Pleasant Surprise Upon Logging In
The highly anticipated 3.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons has dropped earlier than expected, delivering a host of exciting enhancements to the beloved game just ahead of the Switch 2 launch on January 15. If you haven’t checked in on your island paradise for a while, your Switch will prompt you to update the game. You can also initiate the update by pressing the “+” button on the game tile and selecting “Software Update.” While official patch notes are still pending, previous announcements have hinted at some of the new features players can look forward to.
Villagers can now catch some Zs on Slumber Islands, and a new Resort Hotel building has been introduced for visits. Tom Bell is back with a scheme to help you earn extra Bells. Home storage capacity has seen a significant boost, and new Nintendo-themed items are available for purchase. Additionally, Resetti’s Reset Service allows you to clear out flowers, furniture, and more in bulk from your island. To top it all off, there will be collaborations with Splatoon, The Legend of Zelda, and Lego. For those who upgrade to the Switch 2, there’s an optional $5 Upgrade Pack that enhances the game even further, offering improved resolutions in both docked and handheld modes, quicker load times, mouse controls for Joy-Con 2, and support for GameChat and Camera Play during online sessions.
