Animal Crossing players vote 1.8 million times for their favorite villagers, revealing some unexpected picks.

In the world of Animal Crossing, players embark on the adventure of creating a vibrant town alongside a group of villagers. When a player places a house on a designated plot, a new villager may move in the following day. With hundreds of villagers to choose from, the selection is entirely random, leading to a mix of favorites and not-so-favorites among players. The question of “Who is the best villager in Animal Crossing?” is a hot topic for newcomers and a frequent discussion point within the community. To address this, a large-scale poll was conducted, yielding some intriguing results.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can use Nook Miles Tickets to hunt for villagers. With an empty plot available, they can fly to deserted islands and invite new villagers to join their town. Each island presents a random villager, allowing players to keep searching until they find one that resonates with them. Among the community, certain villagers have earned the title of “dreamies,” becoming fan favorites.

In a surprising turn, Animal Crossing enthusiasts cast over 1.8 million votes to identify the top villagers, and Raymond, despite his popularity, didn’t even make it to the top tier. Introduced with the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2020, Raymond quickly captured players’ hearts with his Smug personality, unique heterochromia, stylish glasses, and business attire. He became the most coveted villager, leading to a black market for trading him, with prices soaring into the millions of Bells. However, his popularity has waned, and he currently sits at number 37 on the Animal Crossing Villager Tier List, landing him in the A-tier category.

Interestingly, while Raymond may not be at the top, cats dominate the S-tier, boasting seven representatives. Lolly, a Normal personality cat villager, currently holds the title of the best villager in Animal Crossing.

At the other end of the spectrum, the least favored villagers include Truffles (pig), Vic (bull), Violet (gorilla), Vladimir (cub), and Wart Jr. (frog). This ranking is likely to shift as more players cast their votes and elevate their preferred villagers.

The poll results also feature a variety of engaging categories for stat enthusiasts. Fans can explore the top villagers categorized by personality type and species, as well as see which villagers are currently competing for the top spots on the tier list.
