Anthropic Launches Claude Duet, Its New AI Agent to Compete with Muse
Anthropic has unveiled a new AI agent called Claude Duet, which aims to compete with Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots. Targeted at professionals and small business owners, this agent is launching as a “research preview” and is available as a standalone app on both iOS and Android, as well as through the web version of Claude.
Built on Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Duet offers a range of features. Each morning, it provides a brief overview of the most important updates from your connected apps. Throughout the day, it monitors these apps and only alerts you when something requires your attention. You can assign it various tasks, from simple administrative duties like scheduling meetings to more complex projects such as creating dashboards, generating financial forecasts, prototyping, and developing web applications.
Claude Duet integrates memory, skills, and connected apps from Claude, and it includes a virtual machine with a browser to assist in completing tasks. Before taking significant actions, such as processing payments or deleting files, it will seek your approval. To ensure security, especially when handling sensitive information, Claude Duet features a dedicated classifier and safety system designed to reject requests for highly sensitive data, including credit card numbers.
Anthropic notes that Claude Duet is still in its early stages and may occasionally misinterpret threads or misjudge urgency. It also may not perform as effectively with personal tasks like booking tickets.
If you’re interested in trying out Claude Duet, you can join the waitlist, but access is currently limited to Pro or Max subscribers in the US.
