Anticipation for Persona 6 Builds with Announcement of Key Event Return
At the end of the Tokyo leg of the Persona Live Tour 2026, Atlus dropped a surprise announcement: Persona Super Live is making a comeback. This concert series, celebrating the beloved Persona RPG franchise, last took place in 2022 and could serve as a prime opportunity for the company to unveil more details about the eagerly awaited Persona 6.
The news was shared via the official Atlus Game Music account on X. Persona Super Live 2027 is set for three days, from March 19 to 21, at Yokohama Buntai. Traditionally, this event is a grand concert featuring performances of tracks from throughout the Persona series. While it may not excite those unable to attend in person, previous events have often included significant game announcements. Given the surprise return after nearly five years, fans are hopeful that Atlus will reveal something about Persona 6.
The timing of the 2027 event adds weight to this speculation. Persona 4 Revival, a remake of the original 2008 game, is scheduled for release on February 18, 2027. Atlus has indicated that it won’t share much about Persona 6 until after the Persona 4 remake launches. With Super Live happening in March, just a month after Revival’s debut, it seems likely that Atlus is preparing to shift focus to the next main installment in the Persona series.
So far, Atlus has only released one teaser trailer for Persona 6, which confirmed that the game’s primary color will be green and hinted at a darker narrative. The teaser features a field of gravestones, with a shadowy hand looming over a particularly large tomb. A series of cryptic images flashes before the trailer concludes. However, it’s worth noting that early trailers don’t always reflect the final product—just look at the reveal for Persona 5.
While Atlus hasn’t announced a release date yet, there are some hints. The game will naturally launch after Persona 4 Revival. It’s been confirmed that Persona 6 will have physical releases for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. With Sony planning to cease physical disc production for new titles in January 2028, it suggests that Atlus aims to release Persona 6 before the end of 2027.
Atlus is also making two upcoming Persona titles portable.
